I have used both the Stihl and the Husqvarna pole saw.
The Stihl is a sturdy saw with adjustable pole length of 3 feet difference. When extended the additional 3 feet it is not as rigid as the Husqvarna. The Husqvarna 326P5X pole easily disassembles in the center for compactness compared to the Stihl. I can place my saw in my car without it sticking out the window like the Stihl did. The Husq pole is more rigid and when cutting larger limbs allows you to press harder and use more bar. It also allows you to better hold your angle when cutting near the cuff. I cut several 7-8" limbs, first cutting the underside. The more ridged pole of the Husqvarna makes for better extended length under cutting with upward pressure.
The stihl does not warm engine pull start as easy as the Husqavarna. The warm engine "easy start" softer pull of the Husqavarna makes a big difference because of the shaft's length balance factor. When pull starting the Stihl you need to do something to counter balance the pole weight, like set it on the ground or tip the blade down to the ground. Because of the Husq's "easy start" you can balance the saw and pull start it with no problem. I'm talking about a pull using only 4"-8" of cord. That is great for cutting, turn off to climb down or move and then restart.
The handle at the rear of the Husqvarna is also a plus for protecting the engine housing from damage when you set it down or stumble and really set it down. You will hold any pole saw at its balance point, somewhere along the center of the pole. That means it will end up with the engine end on the ground at sometime. The longer the day and the more tired you get the easier to drop, bang and bump so the rear handle is a big plus.
I would like to see a Husqvarna with and an adjustment range of 6'- 12' as rigid as the 326P5X, other then that I would like to have a $.01 for every limb that I will cut with this great tool.
